What will the railway stations of the future look like? A conversation from the Future Builders series with Oliwia Dec-Wolszczak, DWAA Architekci
In the next episode of the Future Builders project, Paweł Gregorczyk talks to Oliwia Dec-Wolszczak from DWAA Architekci, and the topic of the interview is the future of transport infrastructure architecture, sustainable design and the role of the user in shaping contemporary public buildings.
Oliwia Dec-Wolszczak, architect and engineer, together with Marcin Wolszczak, founded and runs the DWAA Architekci design studio, responsible for projects such as the Warszawa Zachodnia and Olsztyn Główny stations, which use innovative Aluprof solutions. The conversation touches upon issues related to low-carbon design, the analysis and importance of natural light, and long-term thinking about the functioning of transport infrastructure.
An important topic of the conversation is the impact of sustainable development on the daily work of a designer and the directions in which railway stations and airports will develop in the future. The interviewees also refer to issues such as user comfort, comparing contemporary projects with historical examples and considering which solutions best responded to the real needs of passengers.
