MB-60E - cost-effective door system with a thermal barrier

The MB-60E system is designed to offer cost effective construction of thermal break doors and windows frames which incorporate a door unit. Functional in its design the system offers quick and convenient construction and installation.

The MB-60E system is a part of the well renowned MB-60 door & window system. A feature of the system is the close design compatibility with other door & window systems From ALUPROF. This model enables utilisation of common accessories such as glazing beads and accessories. The construction depth of the system, featuring 3-chamber construction, is just 60 mm. With the faces of the vent and frame in alignment the system offers clean aesthetic lines once closed. Glazing units of up to 43.5 mm thickness can be incorporated. Pre-cut gaskets applied in glazed openings further reduce to a minimum the number of trims taken to site whilst promising weathertightness.

The system incorporates standard hardware, locks and hinges, normalised under the European standards. Options include surface-mounted locks and bolts, which are quick to fit and easy to replace. Other offers include a wide variety of thresholds and bottom crosspieces for door leaf’s. Despite the cost efficiency of the MB-60E solution, its thermal performance is a large step up from the MB-60E ? to the MB-60 base system. An additional advantage is that the MB-60E systems offers the possibility of bending profiles, which allows the construction of arched windows and doors.

The MB-60E system can be made in a version with a further improved thermal insulation in the MB-60E HI. The improved thermal insulation is obtained by placing special inserts in central chambers of the aluminium profiles. Owing to the low value U of the insulation strips, the inserts decrease heat transfer through the construction by reducing convection and thermal radiation.
