One of the most important international events in the architectural sector, the ‘Building Of The Year created with Aluprof Systems’ Competition is under way. For the fourth time, a jury of experts will select the most interesting buildings where systems by ALUPROF SA have been used. Following the tradition established in previous years, the organisers are also giving Internet users a vote. The designer of the building which receives the most votes will receive the Internet Users’ Accolade. The rules and the deadline for submitting entries.

The ‘Building Of The Year created with Aluprof Systems’ competition is addressed to architects’ practices and freelance architects whose designs feature systems by ALUPROF SA and were, or will have been, built between 1st January 2018 and 30th June 2022 or, if they were not entered for the previous competitions, earlier. The competition was conceived with the idea of distinguishing the most interesting buildings based on ALUPROF’s solutions, promoting the architecture of the future and creating a space for discussing the latest designs and trends in architectural work.

The closing date for the submission of entries is 30.06.2022. The entry form provided at https://future-builders.com/en/contest should be used. It can be sent by e-mail to konkurs@aluprof.eu or by post, in which case the date of the postmark is decisive.

The competition

As with the previous editions, the competition consists of three stages. At the first stage, the organisers will select fifty buildings from the entries. Those shortlisted buildings will be announced on the competition website, at https://future-builders.com/en/contest, within fifteen days of the closing date. During the second stage, the jury of five professional architects, Oscar Grąbczewski, Jacek Lenart, Jacek Ewý, Robert Konieczny and Elżbieta Dziubak, will pick ten finalists from shortlist. The third stage sees the jury selecting the three winning designs, which will then be honoured with a cash prize. The first prize is PLN 50,000, the second is PLN 30,000 and the third, PLN 15,000.

The Internet Users’ Vote

Continuing another tradition from the previous editions, the organisers are also providing Internet users with the opportunity to voice their opinion in the competition. From 30.06.2022 to 31.07.2022, they will be able to vote online at https://future-builders.com/en/contest. Their vote will be for the most interesting of all the buildings entered for this year’s competition. The architect whose design receives the highest number of votes will receive the Internet Users’ Accolade.

Announcing the winners

Following the jury’s final deliberations, the results of the competition will be announced during the awards ceremony, which will be held on 8th September 2022 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Warsaw.

The buildings entered for the competition will be presented on the competition website, at https://future-builders.com/en.... The announcement of the winning and highly commended buildings will be published in the trade and other media. The presentation of the buildings will provide the given name and surname of the designer or the name of the architects’ practice, the name of the contractor(s), the developer’s name and the name(s) of the ALUPROF systems used.

The winners of the previous editions include Green2Day, in Wrocław, .KTW, in Katowice and CEDET, Royal Wilanów and Ambassador Office Building, all in Warsaw.

The honorary patron of the competition is the Polish Architects’ Association (SARP). Its patrons are the Polish Chamber of Architects (IARP) and the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC).
