MB-60 is a modern aluminium system intended for design of exterior architectural building fenestration requiring thermal and acoustic insulation, such as, various types of windows, doors, vestibules, display windows or spatial structures.
The system is designed with a three chamber structure. The structural depth of the window sections is equal to 60 mm (frames) and 69 mm (casements), and for doors 60 mm and 60 mm, respectively. With the faces of the vent and frame in alignment the system offers clean aesthetic lines once closed. With a narrow face width of profile the system offers a slim sightline once installed.
It is possible to curve profiles, such as frame and vent sections which allows various types of arches and arch structure windows to be fabricated.
The MB-60 system is designed with a low U value, thanks to the high performance thermal breaks and gaskets. The systems design meets the requirements for the material group 2.1 in the case of windows, and 2.2 in the case of doors according to DIN 4108 . The system incorporates profiled "omega"shaped thermal breaks equal to 24 mm width in windows and 14 mm width in doors and are made from polyamide reinforced with glass fibres. The shape of the breaks increases the rigidity of profiles, compared to flat thermal breaks, whilst improving section drainage, ensuring the appropriate thermal insulation in all weather conditions. Door thresholds are made of HPVC with EPDM gaskets which guarantees a good thermal insulation of the door and frame whilst improving air and water tightness.
One of the features of this system is its close relation to the window and door systems of MB-45, MB-59S and MB-70 systems. By adapting a base design allows the use of many compatible elements across systems such as, common glazing beads, corner joints, sealing strips, glazing gaskets, weather seals, common hardware, closing devices, hinges, and many other construction processes or hardware?. One of the benefits of this standardisation is that both the external and the internal appearance of various Aluprof systems suite together with similar appearances.
The MB-60 system is a base system for further systems with an improved thermal insulation such as the MB-60HI, MB-60US HI, MB-60E HI and MB-60EF HI.
