Aluprof UK Presents Groundbreaking Case Study on The Forge at Digital Construction Week 2025

Aluprof UK took Net-Zero stage at this year’s Digital Construction Week, held at ExCeL London, with a forward-looking presentation on sustainable construction and modular design. In a dedicated session at the Net Zero Theatre, Magdalena Płócica, Head of BIM at Aluprof UK, delivered a detailed case study on The Forge - the UK’s first net zero carbon commercial office development.
Developed by Landsec and designed by Bryden Wood Architects, The Forge is a landmark in sustainable construction. Located in the heart of London’s Southwark, this innovative commercial building is not only targeting net zero carbon throughout its lifecycle but is also the first major commercial project in the UK to be delivered using Platform Design for Manufacture and Assembly (P-DfMA).
Aluprof UK played a key role in the development, supplying a bespoke unitised glazing façade system, MB-SE120 that was central to achieving both the building’s energy performance and its modular construction goals. During the presentation, Płócica highlighted how Aluprof’s digital capabilities - including advanced BIM object libraries - enabled precision engineering, seamless integration, and streamlined delivery of façade elements to support the P-DfMA process.
The Forge sets a new standard for efficient, low-carbon office development. With its prefabricated ‘kit of parts’ approach, the building not only reduces on-site waste and emissions, but also accelerates construction timelines - a growing priority in today’s built environment.
Through this project, Aluprof UK continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and digital innovation in façade engineering, providing robust technical support to architects, contractors, and developers working toward net zero targets.
