The new MB-MT50N façade system by Aluprof receives Passive House Institute certification

The high thermal insulation performance provided by ALUPROF’s MB-MT50N mullion and transom wall system has been confirmed by a prestigious certificate from the Passive House Institute, which is located in Darmstadt, Germany.

The new façade achieved an A+ rating, the highest possible efficiency class for products designed for passive homes. One of the system features that contributes to the outstanding test results is the innovative hard-core insulator, which provides the requisite heat transfer performance. In addition, its design makes screw guidance easy and installation far simpler and quicker.

The MB-MT50N SI offers impressive thermal insulation parameters, at a minimum Uf of 0.55 W/(m2K), and equally impressive performance in terms of watertightness and wind resistance. The solutions introduced with this system are geared towards not only thermal management, but also simplifying and automating the processing of individual profiles and accessories.

The MB-MT50N SI is the latest system from ALUPROF to have received Passive House certification. It has previously been awarded to the SI and Aero versions of the and to the MB-104 Passive SI+ door. Within the façade range, the has joined the MB-SR50N HI+ and the MB-TT50 as a certificate holder. The SP and SP-E roller shutters are also Passive House certified.

The Passive House Institute was founded in Germany in 1996 by Dr Wolfgang Feist. An independent research institute, it has gone on to carve out a leading position in the study and development of energy-efficient building technologies. Products which hold certification from the institute are used in buildings featuring the highest of energy standards.
